Thinking Out Loud

Today I'm linking up with Amanda @ Running With Spoons for Thinking Out Loud.
Please take time to visit Amanda and the other bloggers linked up on her site.

Well, let's see.  What is rattling around in my brain today?

Saturday is my 4th and final half marathon in my self imposed series of 4 within 21 days.  I'm already worried about my post-race gloominess.  I love to race and I'm going to have withdrawals!   There is not even a local 5k on the horizon.  Now, what am I supposed to do with myself?

I organized this streak just to move up a moon level in Half Fanatics.  Guess what? Nobody cares about my moon level!  This is simply to satisfy my "slightly obsessive", goal-oriented self.

Jupiter, here I come!
Speaking of Half Fanatics, I'm confused.  They call it moon levels, but the levels are names of planets.  For example, I'm currently a Saturn and will move to Jupiter after Saturday.  After that, the next level is Mars.  Those are names of planets!  Why are they making this so confusing?

Well, I did it.  I threw my name in the lottery for the
Chicago Marathon.  I'm leaving this one to fate.  If I don't get in, I'll choose another race for my first marathon.  GO BIG or GO HOME, as they say.   The only thing going for me is this would be a big inconvenience as far as timing and travel goes.  So, for this reason alone...I may just get in!

I wish there was no Spring Forward.  I do not like running in complete darkness in the mornings.

Did anyone catch the premiere of the new A&E series The ReturnedEerie.  I can't wait to see the next episode! It is airing on Mondays after Bates Motel, another favorite!

Well, that's what I've been thinking.  What about you?

  1. I am beholden to the Starbucks gold card Star Dash in much the same way you quest for a new moon level. Oh the ways they get me to buy coffee. YAY for Chicago! I hope you get in. I can come down with Mr P on a stick and be the ultimate cheerleader!

    1. Speaking of Starbucks I tried their caramel flan latte this week...too much flan, not enough caramel.

  2. 4 halfs in 3 weeks?! Holy.SNAP. I'm at a point in my baby running career that I couldn't even imagine running that much, so that's pretty freaking epic in my mind. Good luck on your race!

  4. Good luck on the lottery! When will you know if you were selected?

That's so funny about the half fantatics and their moon/planet levels. lol I've never thought about that before, but now it's bugging me too!

I wish there were no such thing as Fall Backwards. I hate coming home from work in the dark!

    1. Everyone is supposed to be notified on 4/28. I want it both ways - light in the mornings and in the evenings.

  5. Ha! Good point! That moon business makes no sense!

Good luck with Chicago!!! I hope you get in! :)

Is the extra light throwing you off in the evening too? I struggle even more with that!

    1. By the time I cook supper and what-not, it's dark. I don't really notice the extra light but I will as the days get longer.

    1. 4/28 is they day they notify. Thanks...now I can say "I'm a Jupiter". Mars is after that. That sounds more cool but the requirements are wicked.

  7. I don't know anything about Half Fanatics but maybe they call that level Moon level because now you are "out of this world" or something like that. Congrats though.

    1. Thanks. The weather is not looking the best. I just think HF should have planet levels. I like the colors of MM better than HF! That would be a good enough reason to qualify! :)

  9. You will do great in your race! And you will be looking for another one. Ha. I've been out of he loop for a few days, got some new things happening with the blog. Hopefully. I have wondered about the half fanatic moons but the levels are planets ha, there has got to be a story behind that. I will have to check and see if I will move up soon, surely with at many as I've been doing here lately. I've never seriously wanted to do a marathon but I'm like you if I was to throw my hat in and got it, then I would do it.! :) Have a great Friday tomorrow and weekend! :)

    1. I hope things work out for your blog! Half Fanatics is a great resource to find races. The requirements for Mars (my next level) are killer. It will take some hard work to get that one! Have a wonderful weekend!
