Mizuno Wave Inspires & Hippie Runner Headbands |
Mizuno
I don't want to ever wear another running shoe...ever. I don't know what I'll do when they quit making Wave Inspires (and yes, I'm sure they will one day).
Hippie Runner
I found this brand at a Disney expo years ago. They sold funky headbands before funky headbands were cool. For years, everybody wanted to know where to get them. I don't get the question as often any more.
Old Navy
You can't beat Old Navy clearance prices. I have every color of their running bra plus a few other items, all bought on sale (of course!). Their items are affordable and durable.
Nike Dri-Fit Skirts |
Nike Dri-Fit
The majority of my running apparel is by Nike and I like to visit their outlet store when we are at the beach. I love my Nike Dri-Fit skirts. I've had them for years but the colors are still vibrant. The shorts underneath never ride up! They are the most comfortable skirts I own.
Let me just say for the record: I loathe those grippy things on the shorts layer of some running skirts. They remind me of little sticky gecko toes. It's irritating.
Gypsy Runner
These people are dedicated to the race expos! I have bought several of their skirts, arm warmers, A Dress, headbands, decals and more.
Hmm...when will I wear that Wonder Woman skirt?
I'm always looking for something new. So tell me about your favorite brands!
I'm linking up with the awesome ladies from the DC Trifecta:
Courtney from Eat Pray Run DC,
Cynthia from You Signed Up For What?!
Mar from Mar on the Run!.
Please visit or, even better, join in on the Friday Five.
I also like Mizunos and my mom actually introduced me to Hippie Runner headbands!
ReplyDeleteHippie Runner is great!
DeleteI love anything Nike / Dri Fit. Over 50% of my running apparel is Nike and I have never been disappointed with any of their clothes. I have never tried a running skirt...
ReplyDeleteMost of mine apparel is Nike. UA comes in second. You can't wear the stuff out! Try a skirt.
DeleteHaha I love your Mizuno collection! I think a lot of runners have a major shoe collection. I haven't tried most of these brands (other than old navy which of course is awesome for good deals) so I'll check them out...maybe at the Boston Marathon expo! :) -C
ReplyDeleteI'm sure there will be so much to choose from at the Boston expo!
DeleteI haven't seen Gypsy Runner before. I do have a Sparkle Skirts wonder woman skirt - my sister and I wore them for Zooma Chicago in 2013 :)
ReplyDeleteI think it would also be great for a patriotic race. It was definitely an impulse buy. LOL.
DeleteGosh, I haven't heard of most of these brands! I'm always looking for shorts that don't ride up, so I'll check out Nike. There's a non-outlet store near me.
ReplyDeleteI started with Nike and it's never let me down.
DeleteI never heard of Hippie Runner. I was always looking out for headbands when I was playing soccer and lacrosse because I needed to hair to stay in place. The first brand I discovered was Sweaty Bands.
ReplyDeleteThese bands are not tight. I think they are more for sweat and fashion.
Deletei'm not a huge fan of most nike clothes except for their bras - i do like those! we just got a new nike community store in dc that i want to check out :) have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI only have one Nike bra and it's not my favorite. Check out the new store!
DeleteI've never heard of Gypsy Runner. I need to look into them, because I love that skirt. All my running skirts have that grippy gummy thing, but I'm okay with it because my legs are bigger so I need a lot of help with shorts not riding up. And you're right--you can't beat Old Navy's prices!
ReplyDeleteWhen I do wear something that the grippy feet, I flip it over (up) so I can't feel it. It still works. My Old Navy stuff has really lasted too.
DeleteI keep forgetting to check out Old Navy for running gear, that's a great tip. I'm going to have to check them out the next time I'm near one.
ReplyDeleteMake sure to check our their clearance racks. They'll have tons of workout apparel on sale.
DeleteSuch a cute skirt! I always have a crazy need to stock up on a shoe brand/style when I find one I love. I've only got one unworn pair left of my Altra Torins and they've changed the style on me.
ReplyDeleteIt's so frustrating when they change or discontinue something you love. You have to start a new search.
DeleteH, do you like the Old Navy sports bras? That's a great idea; I can never have enough. I'll have to check them out. Thanks so much for sharing your faves with us; hope you have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteI like their bras with the inserts (no headlights please). They have a lot of compression, which I like. The downside is they are hard to get off when sweaty.
DeleteMizunos are my shoes too! I wear the wave riders, sayonara, and hitogamis! I don't know if they'd get rid of the inspires...those are a mainstay in their arsenal! Those head bands are super cute!
ReplyDeleteI keep hearing rumors they will be discontinued. I think would be OK with Riders.
DeleteYay for Mizuno! I love their Wave Riders. I love Nike Dry-fit, as well, especially during cold weather. I've never purchased any workout gear from Old Navy, but I do hear great things about it. That Gypsy Runner Wonder Woman skirt ROCKS!!!
ReplyDeleteI think I need to run a July 4th race for that skirt!
DeleteThanks for sharing! I've never heard of Hippie Runner or Gypsy Runner. I love finding out about new brands. Old Navy has great stuff and it's affordable.
ReplyDeleteBoth of them have some cool and unusual items. Check them out.
DeleteI'm a recent convert to Mizuno - love my Wave Riders!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great shoe and the Inspire is what I need for my high arches.
DeleteI love Oiselle running apparel--it's the perfect blend of attractive styling and great function.
ReplyDeleteI've heard really great things about Oiselle but have not tried it.
DeleteMizuno-YES!!! Great list!
ReplyDeleteThanks. Mizunos are wonderful, except for generation 8!!
DeleteI"m guilty of combing through the Old Navy clearance racks...
ReplyDeleteInexpensive and durable. No guilt here.
DeleteLove this! Great list, some of my faves too!
ReplyDeleteIt's great to read everyone's list and get new ideas. Thanks for hosting.
DeleteI just ordered some Mizuno Wave Inspires. I hope I like them as much as you do!
ReplyDeleteThe heel is stiff but they are perfect for my high arches. I hope you like them.
DeleteThis is fun, I had some Inspires I think and never liked them, but then I got the Mizuno Wave Riders and love those. Although I think the Altra Torins are even better for me. I NEED the grippy stuff on running skirts or my thighs eat those shorts like candy and its so annoying! I wish I didn't need it.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of the grippy stuff but I just can't stand the feel of it.
DeleteYES! Old Navy for the win!!! I love their workout gear. Well made and such a good price.
ReplyDeleteYes! And there is a boatload of it on their clearance racks too.
DeleteI also sing the praises of the Mizuno Wave Inspire (9 and 11, not 10 LOL), and Old Navy Active.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it scary how different one generation can be? The 8's were a disaster for me! And now, the toebox in the 11 feels smaller.
DeleteMizuno is such a great brand! I don't currently use their shoes anymore but they have great cold weather gear, I sport their pants and beanie all winter long!
ReplyDeleteNo one locally sells their clothing and I like to try stuff on before purchase
DeleteAll I wear are Mizuno Wave Inspires. Love them!
ReplyDeleteThey are perfect for my high arches! I need the lift.
DeleteI love Old Navy for real clothes and running clothes. I've never heard of Gypsy Runner, I'll have to check them out.
ReplyDeleteThey have a wide variety of items. You'll like them!
DeleteI like purchasing my capris from Old Navy. Bonus when its on sale!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite pair of capris came from them years ago. They have lime green piping, my color.
DeleteIf it feels good, I don't care where it came from or whose logo it has on it. And it makes it all the sweeter if the price is right! I like that tank!
