Happiness Is...

My Morning Coffee

A happy day must start with a strong cup or two of coffee.  On the weekends, I like to sip it while sitting in my back porch swing.  I relish this particular time of my weekend mornings!  Depending on the season, it can either before or after a long run.  A weekday afternoon coffee with a friend is also a special treat (Hi, Kim).

Keurig may be the best invention ever!

A Sunny Day

I've long known that my mood and energy level is directly affected by the amount of sunlight.  Gloomy Day = Gloomy HoHo.  I'm not saying I have to be baking it in (not such a good thing any more) but I have to be able to see it.  I have to know it's a sunny day.

Any Body of Water

I have an urge to be either IN, AROUND, OVER, ON, UNDER or NEAR any body of water.    Point me to the nearest pool, lake, river or ocean.  {As Brad Paisley would sing -- Drive until the map turns blue.}  Heck -- if I'm desperate, a fountain or bird bath will do.

A sunny day on the water...nothing better.

A Good Sweat

A run that produces an enormous sweat is good for my soul (and soles).  Plus, those feel-good endorphins are powerful things.  Problems are solved, decisions made, ideas formed, bodies become strong, and stink is stunk during and after a good sweaty run.

A Florida race in late June equals massive sweat.
My time is nowhere near a PR, but all I could do on that day in that heat.

My Growing Family

I do enjoy traveling.  But, the happiest times are just in the backyard, the boat, or at the beach hanging out with the family.  With the recent addition of our granddaughter, we are now eight strong.  Add two small high energy dogs (and an occasional large granddog) and it's blissful chaos at our house when we are all together.

Tell me something that makes you happy!

    1. Neither one of my dogs like to swim in the pool. However, one of them cannot ignore a neck deep puddle in the park after it rains. I guess it needs to be muddy water.

  2. I'm with you on pretty much everything except the coffee. But a nice cup of tea is good. :)

  3. I haven't been waterskiing yet! The water was pretty cold and it rained last time we were up at the lake. Hopefully soon!

    1. Me either. The water here is now extremely warm. Our boat is being repaired from our epic fail a few weeks ago. It should be finished next week. So MAYBE, just maybe, next weekend. I'll be so giddy, I'm sure I'll post something.

  4. Happiness is when we had that RV tire blowout, the water holder of our Keurig wasn't full when it fell across the RV and the rest of the Keurig stayed up on the counter and didn't break!

    1. That would make me happy. At least you don't have to replace it. I hope you are enjoying your trip.

  5. I don't drink coffee, but I love what I consider summer iced teas. I know I can get Starbucks' passion ice tea year round but I save it for summer.

    1. You know, I would probably love a Starbucks tea...but I just can't NOT order a iced white chocolate mocha...with half the syrup. I just can't. Loyal.

  6. Keurigs are an amazing invention - we're addicted to ours.
The way you are drawn to water, I'm drawn to trees :) Let me walk in them all day long :)

  12. Great list! I do love a day at the beach or lake to relax. Our temps are finally in the triple digits here, so the lake waters are finally starting to warm up, by next month they should be great for a day at the lake and I can't wait!

  15. Happiness is definitely morning coffee, usually after a sweaty run this time of year. No better way to start a morning off than a dose of caffeine and endorphins! :) And I agree, vacations are nice. But the times where we can get the whole family together is extra special!
