Runfessions (January)

I Runfess...I had a few too many post marathon treats!

I'm very glad I can't buy these locally.

Why does everything taste better with Mickey on it?

I Runfess...I had a momentary lapse in judgement!

What was I thinking?
Debating over whether I should buy these,
these pants spoke to me.  Guess what they said?

I Runfess...I ran with my running pants on inside out yesterday.  Hi Neighbors!

I Runfess...I was not happy with news at the doctor's office!

At my annual check up this week, I weighed in at the the heaviest I've been in probably eight years!  Darn you coconut patties!  Darn you shortbread rounds! But this is so typical of me.  I get through the holidays unscathed and then tend to eat All.The.Things!  I've got to get a grip.

What would you like to Runfess?

I'm linking up with Marcia today from Marcia's Healthy Slice
Please stop by and join in with your Runfessions!

  1. We are yellow-pants sisters. My teenager protested loudly when I bought them and I hesitate everytime I wear them because I feel ridic. We NEED to run in them together. Like an army of minions! mmmmm coconut patties and shortbread are both divine. Thanks for linking up!

    1. I thought I could handle wearing them in the dark and you know -- they are great for visibility and all. I don't know. I haven't taken them back yet. Yes, minions! Ha.!

    1. I wish I had not looked when I was at the doctor's. Ignorance is bliss.

  3. I am with you! I managed to get through the holidays with perhaps only a pound gained. But then I've been out of control recently. I think the cold and dark days suggest we need to hoard calories to survive - clearly not necessary but our evolutionary biology hasn't caught up with modern days!

    1. Oh, yes! I'll blame it on slow evolutionary biology.

  4. Love those pants!! We all have a love for sweets, that's why we're runners. :)

    1. I haven't returned them yet. I may give them a whirl. I definitely need more running to counteract my sweet tooth.

  7. You changed your blog header and I love it!

Love those yellow pants, but I have to runfess that I would never wear light colored bottoms--I have occasional GI issues and I sure don't want to become a meme...

    1. I'm really wishing I hadn't look at the stupid scale! Surely I was wearing 9 pounds clothing, right?

  9. Okay when I first looked at the pants, my initial thought was- eww. But the more I look at them, and the more I think about the fun colored tops you could put with them, I am changing my mind. I like them! Don't take them back!

    1. I think I'll give them a try. I think I would be pretty visible even in the dark!

  10. I always see those coconut patties at Disney but never buy them. I guess maybe next time now that I know they are awesome!

    1. I used to bring back a couple of boxes (yes, they sold them in boxes!) every trip for a friend and co-worker of mine. She loved them as much as I do.

  12. I runfess I didn't get a run in this week. At all. Unless you count running in place in my kitchen this evening while I was waiting for stuff to cook.
I really hope the weather is better next week and I can get back out there.

  13. I bet your like me though, I am always heavier during the winter months. You just wait until it warms up and your ski routine will help with it! I am glad I didn't see the shortbread cookies! I bet they are amazing! I'm Lol'ing like on the floor, because I just read Wendy's comment! I do like the pants!

    1. Usually, I'm heavier in the summer, when more of my body can be seen. Argh! I find that so aggravating!

  14. On the upside, there's never been a more yellow pair of pants on the face of the planet...

  15. My theory is that, as you said, we are wearing more clothes in the winter. (At least that's what I told myself at my doctor's appointment!)

    1. That's exactly what I tell myself! If only I had not seen the actual number!

  16. Just do it! Yes!! I have a pair of bright yellow Nike capris..,ot writing but damn are the bright!

You had me at coconut and chocolate!!

The scale is the devil but I can see how avoiding it like I do when I do have to weight I am like NOOOOO!!

I am looking into using the racing weight book but hesitant because it encourages weekly weigh ins and I am not a fan of that :(

I runfess that I have run less than 5 times this month...shameful!

    1. Yay! Somebody else that likes coconut. I'm trying to make smarter choices are avoid the scale for a while. I think I will probably have the same runfession about 5 runs in a month very soon.

  17. I LOVE the pants!! But, I have a small (?) fetish with all things colorful and bright. A word of caution....they may look like you're naked in the dark LOL (#beentheredonethat);-)

  19. I was pretty good until the blizzard hit, and then all I wanted to make was chili, grilled cheese sandwiches, brownies, hot chocolate, etc.

  20. I ran with my pants inside out once and then I blamed my hubby for it. He said he thought I was supposed to have words across my butt, I promptly told him only if the wording said, extra small! Ugh, I feel ya! Doctor's offices are brutal! Next time tell them you want them to weigh in too so you both have something to talk about :)

    1. Aww...thanks. Sadly, I gained a few of those pounds after the Disney pictures were taken.

  22. I think those pants are fabulous!!! You would look awesome in them!

I totally relate to the post-marathon and post-holiday weight gain. During the process of training for my first marathon, I gained about 15 pounds. =( It seems to happen to a lot of runners! The timing around the holidays doesn't help, either - it's like a double whammy!
