I Runfess...
On Wednesday I signed up for one last Spring another half marathon. Umm...the race is tomorrow {I know, it's a sickness!}. I couldn't pass it up after seeing the elevation chart. I loved the other downhill half I ran in the Colorado Rockies. The name of this race is Tear Drop. Oh, my. If I survive that drop, this will be my 41st half marathon.
I Runfess...
I bought another skirt from Sparkle Athletics. It was on sale half price. Seriously, what's a girl supposed to do? I like these lightweight skirts to wear over my capris in colder weather -- just for a little pop of color. Unfortunately, it will be a while before I use it.
I Runfess...
I have sinned... This tastes like the cookies Delta Airlines once gave out in flight (maybe they still do?). YUM! Slap it on a slice of Pepperidge Farms Chocolate Chip Swirl Bread and you've got a DOUBLE YUM!
I Runfess...
This has nothing to do with anything. But, I couldn't resist including a cute picture of Mini sleeping. I recently posted a picture of Mojo's photobomb. I feel I must give equal time to the pets.
I Runfess...
I couldn't pass on the opportunity to be an ambassador for Level Up Virtual Runs. BB8 is adorable in the latest Star Wars film. In keeping with that theme, here is their latest medal design for finishers of May The 4th Be With You. If you'd like to participate, use CODE10 for a discount on registration at Level Up Virtual Runs. Trust me when I say they give out the most unique and impressive medals. The window of participation is from May 4th to 28th and you choose your distance. Registration will remain open until May 15th.
Got anything you need to runfess?
I'm also linking up with the Friday Five where it's Free Friday.
Please hop over and check out what everyone has to say!
Thank you to our gracious hosts:

Mar from Mar on the Run!.
Have a blast at your race tomorrow. I would love to run a downhill course just once, but feel that my quads might be screaming at me at the finish line! The Biscoff spread was recently added to the peanut butter selection at my usual grocery store and I have been so tempted.....so far I have resisted.
ReplyDeleteMy knees were screaming that afternoon. But they were fine the next day, and everything else hurt! LOL.
DeleteI think I started a more furkid photo movement for running bloggers. :) What can I say, I've always meant to include all my loves in my blog!
ReplyDeleteLove the skirt -- super cute!
Good luck on your half -- I'd like to try a negative drop half someday!
You know Mini is exhausted when she sleeps were her cute little tongue sticking out!
DeleteAwwww, that skirt is the Bomb! Matching arm warmers (??) ;-) Good luck in your race!! I'm running 13.1 on Sunday...hoping for 2 hours of dryness....fingers crossed...
ReplyDeleteYou know, I didn't think to check for arm warmers! But, I think their brand doesn't fit me too well, if I remember correctly.
DeleteWow 41 half marathons, I can't even imagine. Congrats, I hope you enjoy the downhill, it sounds like fun!
ReplyDeleteAnd congrats on your ambassadorship!
The downhill was very enjoyable and very steep!
DeleteI love the photo of your dog sleeping! I feel bad when I don't give my cats equal showcasing too :) But one of them hates photos and the other one is a ham so I guess that's just how it ends up.
ReplyDeleteMini only sticks her tongue out if she is utterly exhausted. I was happy to capture it this time!
DeleteNow that is a serious elevation drop! My kind of course ;) Have fun and good luck!
ReplyDeleteI really did enjoy the race, while I was running it. The muscle soreness has lasted for days, however.
DeleteI'd be all over a downhill course like that. Irresistible. Let sleeping dogs lie, especially when they're as cute as Mini. Love the BB8! Thanks for linking!
ReplyDeleteThe downhill section did not disappoint. They could have skipped the uphill portions though!
DeleteI absolutely LOVED that photo bomb of Mojo during your plank! Super funny!! Good luck with your race! 41! Very impressive number! Cute skirt! May have to go look!
ReplyDeleteMojo and Mini run our household. Mojo won't leave me alone if I'm on the floor exercising or whatever. Mini could care less.
DeleteI confess... I still haven't tried cookie butter! I don't think I could handle myself with it! I can barely handle PB .... I take a spoon to the jar and it is goneeeee.
ReplyDeleteCookie Butter is a dangerous commodity. It's best to just walk away. I already have a serious addiction to Maple Almond Butter!
DeleteI am always taking pics of my yellow lab for no reason either. They are a member of the family just like everyone else. So cute!
ReplyDeletePets are definitely family members. I usually take horrible pictures because they move so much! I got this one though.
DeleteMini's adorable. I photobomb Allie all the time. Sometimes she turns her head right when the camera clicks, but if she's sleeping, she doesn't have to know.
ReplyDeleteIt's usually hard to get Mini. I guess she was so exhausted, it didn't matter this time.
DeleteNow THAT is a race I would sign up for - I am all about the downhills! Have fun tomorrow!!!
ReplyDeleteI love a downhill course...while I'm running. Afterwards, it's quite the challenge. I'm not moving around very well, to put it mildly.
DeleteMini is soo cute... love that little show of tongue! Have fun at your race tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteShe was adopted and the shelter had already named her Minnie (as in Mouse). When my husband took her to the vet, he misspelled it. Oh, well. I think I like his spelling better anyway.
DeleteLove the pic of Mini!
ReplyDeleteShe's not the cutest dog (don't tell her I said that) but she certainly is very smart!
DeleteI have that cookie butter too! It's very good! Good luck at your race tomorrow! -M
ReplyDeleteI'll be glad when the jar is empty...
DeleteDelta definitely still hands out those cookies & they're the best as is that spread. Anything called 'cookie butter' seems to be an iteration of this. Just like chocolate hazelnut spread is knockoff Nutella. It's SO GOOD. I just eat it on a spoon, but I think you're supposed to put it on actual things. ;)
ReplyDeleteI already have a serious addiction to Maple Almond Butter. I think I should walk away from anything in a jar.
DeleteSo many awesome runfessions. Love this post!!! Good luck tomorrow!!! xxoo
ReplyDeleteI appreciate the well wishes. It was a great race.
DeleteI am impressed with all your racing ! That is a heck of a lot of races & miles. Not feeling burned out ?
ReplyDeleteI'm not burned out. I missed my typical fall/winter excessive racing due to injury. That's why I keep looking for one more half...
DeleteNot surprised about your half. I would have done the same. GL!! Kick butt!
ReplyDeleteDon't have any sparkle skirts (yet.)
I love Biscoff (I got it as swag at a half a few years ago.)
Tastes awesome on cinnamon raisin bread!!!)
I like the Sparkle Athletic skirts for winter wear. They are so light and thin (no pockets no under shorts) and make the perfect thing to go on top of pants or capris. I admit the Biscoff tastes good on everything!
DeleteWow, that elevation is intense! I don't know how I would do running downhill for that long. You are a machine will all these races! Good luck and have fun!
ReplyDeleteI always try to get as many races in while the weather is bearable. Soon, I will be raceless!
DeleteOh, wow, good luck tomorrow. Downhill can be harder on your legs than you expect! Love the pooch!
ReplyDeleteFrom doing other down hill races, it definitely is hard on the legs. I think because you may not feel any pain while you are doing it. Only later! But, I like a down hill course. It's a trade off.
DeleteMy quads just cried a little bit looking at that elevation chart. I was hurting pretty badly after Big Sur--from the downhills!!!! Good luck Holly!
ReplyDeleteBut I know it was well worth it, right Wendy? What's a few days of soreness (she said naively). LOL.
Deletei bought the same skirt on the sale! such a good deal! :)
ReplyDeleteIt was a good deal. I couldn't pass that one up.
Deletehope your race went well! just saw you're running chicago - i'll be there as well!
ReplyDeleteHooray for Chicago! I intend to actually make it there this year. Ha.
DeleteI love the biscoff spread too! It's very similar to Trader Joe's Cookie Butter. So good spread on a square of chocolate!
ReplyDeleteThat's good to know because we don't have a Trader Joe's! Thanks for the chocolate tip. Must.go.try.
Deleteanother half? I can't wait to hear about it! I am sure you rocked it! and yes you had to have that skirt!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like it may be my last one until the Fall. (Cue tears and sad music.) I can't wait to try that skirt.
DeleteVirtual runs are always fun! I totally feel you on the buying more skirts thing it's hard to resist sometimes
ReplyDeleteI admit, sometimes I feel there are too many options to pick from on race day. It would probably help to narrow down my choices.
DeleteI had a pack of Biscof cookies in my had last week, but put it down and RAN out of the store, before I could change my mind!
ReplyDeleteYou are a wise, wise woman! Next time I will step away.
DeleteHey I too have the same sickness, and speaking of sickness, I am getting another skirt made. I saw several really cute ones at the race this weekend til I just had to have more. My friend turned me onto this Biscoff spread and I could wring her neck now but that stuff is so dang good. I use to put it in my oatmeal too. Awww Mini is so sweet in this picture. Yes it is only right to give her time too!
ReplyDeleteReally? Oatmeal? Hmm...you know I'm going to have to try that. You can't have too many running skirts. It's a rule. And, you can't run too many half marathons. Another rule.
DeleteI like how Level Up gives back to underfunded (or no funded) school sports programs.
