Weekend Update (Mickey Edition)

Happy Monday everyone. I'm linking up with Tara @ Running 'N' Reading for the Weekend Update.

I had the wonderful opportunity to be at the Mouse's House over the weekend.

I thought I'd share a few pictures from my early morning runs on the expansive property of the Fort Wilderness resort.

Early Morning Peace and Quiet

Tell me about your weekend!  Did anyone have a race?
Was the weather nice enough to enjoy your outdoors?

  1. I'm soaking up your warm looking pics! It was a balmy 40 something here on saturday and we melted some of our 20+" of snow but still nowhere near as nice as your weather.

    1. Before the kids get too old to want to be with us...probably already too late!

  5. Great pics. When I go to Disney I am usually there for a race so I don't go running other than that. It would be nice to run whenever you want though. Rather than getting up super early to get to the start. -L

    1. This was the first time I haven't raced in a long time. It was nice just to go for fun. Yeah, that 3:00 wakeup call is rough.

  7. So beautiful, are those Cyprus tree's? I have been to some swampy area's in the south and I absolutely love tree's like that, creepy yet beautiful at the same time!

    1. This resort is on over 700 acres. By far, it is the quietest I've ever stayed in...and we've been here quite a bit, especially when the kids were little. That pic of the swamp was outside our cabin window. Maybe cypress, but I'm really not sure. The trails are so pretty in the predawn light.

  10. Beautiful! I rounded out my weekend with a 5-miler on Friday and a lovely 2-mile walk along a river trail with my sister-in-law and her toy poodle on Saturday. :)

    1. I think that is my favorite distance. I like walking my dogs too and will be glad when it stays light longer in the evenings to do that.

  11. Fun! We threw a huge Italian dinner party on Saturday night, so I spent much of Sunday resting!

  12. That does look like a beautiful place to hang out, and to run of course! The weather here this weekend was in the low 60s! I got in some awesome runs and enjoyed the short break from winter :)

    1. It's hard to come home to cold weather and brown yards. I guess spring, and allergies, will be here soon enough.

  13. when I see a path like that I always thinks someone should be running on it :)
I like the Mickey bands in the pic! I went to Baltimore to see my father-in-law in the hospital this past weekend, just sad :( hoping he can get stronger and go home.
