Happy Friday. I'm linking up today with the DC Trifecta for Friday Five. Today's topic is Fitness Snapshots.
It's difficult for me to get a really good race photo. My finish photos usually look like I'm being tortured. OH, that's right...I am! Instead, I thought it would be fun to share a few unflattering candid photos taken at races, obviously most without my knowledge.

Please come up with better photo captions!
I'll declare a winner and send you a surprise! Give it your best shot!
Thanks to Eat Pray Run DC, You Signed Up For What?!,
These are hilarious!! I think the better question is what evil should we place upon the person who keeps taking these sneaky photographs of you?!? Hahaha!! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteWe have an unofficial running club photographer who takes tons of candid shots. Enjoy your weekend!
DeleteHaha! Your captions are hilarious! I especially like the first one. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteThere were so many captions I could have used for the first one! Enjoy your weekend!
DeleteLol! Too funny! Love your captions!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I think we've all had bad pictures. Might as well embrace it.
DeleteThese are great! I can't believe the race photographer would take such random pics. So I have to ask, What were you really doing in the first pic? Tying your shoe? -M
ReplyDeleteI was actually just trying to stretch my knees before a 10k trail run. I think my sleeves caught the photog's attention.
DeleteOMG, so funny!! Especially the first one. Thanks for the laugh this morning!
ReplyDeleteWe've all been there with the bad photos. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteHahahaha!!!! This made me laugh so hard! Especially the heat miser one! I also always look tortured and struggling in photos....which I am.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you get the Heat Miser reference! Many people don't! Most of my finish photos are hideous because I'm really in so much pain. Ha!
DeleteNo words! Love the creativity of your post!
ReplyDeleteJust owning my bad photos. I could have posted worse, but I do have some integrity. Ha.
DeleteOMG, this is so funny. I used to complain about how expensive race photos were until I realized that none were worth buying!
ReplyDeleteExactly! Who wants to pay $24.95 for an awful 5x7 photo that you want no one to see! I LOVE it when they are free. Yep, some races do that.
DeleteLOL These are great!!!
ReplyDeleteJust keeping it real...ready for Mercedes?
DeleteThis is so my favorite of the linkups- such a good sense of humor about something other people expend a ton of energy on... better to just let the good times (and bad pictures) roll!
ReplyDeleteSince you shared yours, I will share mine-- here I am looking like William Wallace http://cookingupkefi.com/2014/03/17/rnr-usa-race-recap/ Not exactly the effect I was going for--but if Englad had tried to invade the RnR HAlf, I would have been ready!
You have to own up to the good and bad. Checked your pics. I do the thumbs up a lot! At least you are smiling and looking at the camera! I usually can't remember to do either one. HA.
DeleteI do not take good race photos. I'm at the point, it doesn't matter if it was a good race or bad race, I don't look at the race photos at all.
ReplyDeleteI'm never happy with the professional pictures and they are so overpriced anyway.
DeleteI'm not creative at all so I can't think of any better captions...but I think these are pretty great already!!
ReplyDeleteThanks. Hope you have a great weekend.
DeleteI kind of like these....you know, for entertainment sake. But why on earth would a photog. take them?
ReplyDeleteI much prefer the candid shots over the finish line or medal pose pictures. Some of them were taken by our local running club photographer. The others...I don't know.
DeleteThose pics are awesome, made even better by your captions!!
ReplyDeleteYou just have to laugh at them...nothing else you can do. Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteAt least you have some pictures. I don't even run with my phone so I don't have a lot. Great captions for your photos. Too funny!
ReplyDeleteI never run with my phone either. It's too heavy. These were taken by race photographers.
DeleteAh cute post! I don't think they are unflattering. You work hard mama!
ReplyDeleteOh thanks. I do like candid over posed.
Deletethis is too funny! i think we all have some race pictures of ourselves that we just cringe at haha
ReplyDeleteDefinitely. I have much worse actually!
Deleteomg I love these!!!!
ReplyDeleteYep. Just got to laugh.
Deletei think your captions are PERFECT!
ReplyDeleteMy alternate for # 4 was "Thar she blows". Ha.
DeleteThese make me laugh. We could be twins. I dress the same way. Skirts over tights or capris.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely. Love my skirts!!! They stay down. Shorts don't always do that.
DeleteCheck out this one - https://myfirst5k.files.wordpress.com/2013/03/2.png
ReplyDeleteCaption - "I'll never do that again!!"
What are you doing in this pic?
DeleteI think trying not to pass out after a grueling half.
DeleteYeah. Been there done that too!
DeleteSo funny! My favorite is the last one! I never ever look good in race photos--ever. It's my goal to take a good one someday. :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I see a photog I tend to ham it up -- and that's never pretty.
DeleteI love all of these! Another possibility for the 4th photo: "And why did I think this race was a good idea?!?"
ReplyDeleteYep. That's pretty much my thought at some point in every race!
DeleteHilarious! And there is no way I could top your captions! LOL!
ReplyDeleteOh, I bet you could! You've got to have a sense of humor when it comes to race photos.
DeleteI love this roundup! So funny and a great idea! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!
DeleteVery funny. I can't quite put together a good funny caption for it, but the first one makes me think you're trying to like track someone. I want to go with something about losing the course, but my brain just wont put it together, haha.
ReplyDeleteLike... after getting lost on the course, she used the tracking skills she learned living in the wild to find the other runners. It still needs refinement. Ha.
DeleteHaha, these are great! Most of my race pics look like I'm being tortured. Must be why we keep coming back for more :-)
ReplyDeleteYes! The quest for a great finish photo!
ReplyDeleteI love your arm warmers in the first picture! Too cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks. My favorites. I've worn them out.
DeleteYou can't take yourself too seriously because others are taking pics like these!
