I Appreciate ...

I appreciate ...
  • a three day weekend
  • a large mug of strong morning coffee, or two
  • a sparkling sunny day
  • being in, on, or around any body of water
  • skiing on a windless day and seeing the sky's reflection on the glassy water

I appreciate ...
  • when "special dog" doesn't have an accident in the house
  • lying on a float and watching the hawks and falcons circling high in the sky
  • when my neighbor doesn't do his yard work while I'm relaxing in my back yard
  • the view from my back porch swing
  • hearing the peacocks calling from their nearby home

I appreciate ...
  • a thank you from my kids
  • any meal I didn't have to cook
  • a freshly made bed
  • a good night's sleep
  • not worrying about anything, even if it's just for a little while

I appreciate ...
  • what this over 50 body can do
  • running on southern winter mornings
  • the downhill sections of my neighborhood route
  • that PoPo tolerates my running obsession and the occasional ensuing travel
  • kind and encouraging words from family, friends and virtual friends too

What is something you appreciate?

  2. What a great list:) I appreciate all the rain and snow we are finally getting here daily, we hardly had a winter here and our lakes really need filling up:)
Although seeing that beach picture above, really has me wanting to sink my toes in the sand...soon:)

    1. Wow. It's hard to imagine snow! Can I say I'm already tired of the heat? LOL. I need a beach trip to appreciate the heat.

  3. Perfect list! Today I appreciate...a quiet day at work that let me catch up from being off last week...the gravel we replaced the mulch with this year because it made pulling grass and weeds out of the landscaping so much easier... the fact that my soon-to-be-16-year-old cat still enjoys coming outside with me while I pull said weeds... chilling with the dogs on the back deck enjoying a good book, a cold beer, and a cool breeze.

    1. Love your list! I forgot to include a good margarita. Ha. My dogs chill with me in the swing. Nothing better.

  4. Yes, for the hair dye! I still can't sport the white hair...yet. Guacamole is OK, but I'm one of those who can plop sour cream on anything!

    1. You are so sweet! I enjoy our friendship. And girl, you are killing me on the Fitbit steps! I have no doubt we will run together again being southern neighbors. I'm really bummed about Talladega this year!

  7. You have so many great things on your list that you are appreciative of. It's nice to sit back, and think of all of life's wonderful blessings, both large and small. I especially love remembering the little stuff.

  9. What a lovely post to remember all the things you appreciate and to remind all of us to take some time to appreciate the little everyday things along with the big things :) I appreciate the weather we've been having here in AZ! I can't remember the last May that I've been able to run when it was in the 60's in the mornings and 80s in the afternoon. So unusual for us to not be over 100 everyday by now, but I'm loving it! :)

    1. That sounds like beautiful weather. Here, that would translate to swamp-like conditions when you factor in our humidity. I've never raced in AZ...maybe one day.

  10. Great list! Can we ban leaf blowers after 6 pm so we can enjoy our patios? ;-)

    1. If it were up to me, I'd banned all the noise making lawn equipment! I go out to relax and then somebody cranks up something. Argh!
