Welcome to Coffee Talk
It's time to settle in and chat a bit as we sip from our cups. It's a brand new sparkling month with so many possibilities. I can't believe Thanksgiving will be here in a few shorts weeks but then again, don't want to think of the craziness that follows.
Over Coffee...
As we sip, I'd want to know if you've tried the new Reese's coffee creamer by International Delight. OMG. Hankering for a late night dessert? Just stick a straw in and sip.
Over Coffee...
I'd tell you how stressed I've been over Rock n Roll Vegas. When it came time to book flights, I had a swollen ankle tendon -- severe enough to see my podiatrist who performed an ultrasound and declared it was not torn. Whew! But, he instructed me to stay off of it four more weeks {shh...that didn't happen}. Sadly, Vegas would be out! Fast forward to now; my ankle has healed and my weekly mileage somewhat back to normal. Ever optimistic, I was still looking at flights this week. I couldn't justify the outrageous last minute fares and pulled the plug. The crazy thing is...if my ankle still hurt, I would feel better about it. That DNG (did not go) would be much easier to swallow.
Over Coffee...
Evening greetings from the mailbox! |
Over Coffee...
I'd ask if there is something wrong with your bed. You see, mine has recently exhibited an extraordinary amount of extra suction. I.can't.get.up. My mornings runs this week? All completed after work. After work! They were quite enjoyable, though. Who am I becoming?
Over Coffee...
I'm sure the subject of Christmas would invariably come. I've been proud of my successful plan of staying out of stores with their way-too-early decorations and music. Blissfully unaware, I wheeled in to the post office this week for stamps and these popped out of the machine. Was there a Thanksgiving stamp I missed back in the summer?
Over Coffee...
You'd see that I'm giddy with excitement because our southern race season is just beginning. This will be the Winter that I will {knock on wood} run my 50th half marathon. Well yeah, I sorta thought I would have done that already. But...life. Or more specifically...aging body. I've got a list of race possibilities just sitting on my phone. I'm ready.
What would you tell me over coffee?
Be sure to stop in for coffee on Saturday and chat with everyone.
I'm also joining on the Friday Five 2.0 linkup
hosted by Running on Happy and Fairytales and Fitness!
Stop by and see what everyone is talking about.

Yay for race season... you have the perfect shirt for it too! Over coffee I'd tell you that I am so excited for the cooler weather here in FL. It's about dang time!
ReplyDeleteI love my "champagne" shirt. LOL. Isn't the cooler weather motivating?
DeleteOh wow, that Reeses creamer sounds amazing. I hadn't heard of that before. Too bad about Vegas but hope you find the right race for your 50th half! That's an amazing milestone.
ReplyDeleteI feel some pressure to find just the right event for my 50th! LOL.
DeleteReeses are my favorite candies so I would totally try that new coffee creamer, even though I don't drink coffee, lol. I would add it to hot chocolate :)
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about Vegas :( Hopefully you can go next year!
Oooohhh...in hot chocolate sounds delicious! I'm OK about Vegas. Maybe I'll get there one day!
DeleteTrust me, I have plenty of races I can pick from to substitute for Vegas. I think you will have an awesome race at Richmond!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that Vegas is not going to work out for you this year! Glad your ankle is feeling better though. I always wondered who drank those candy flavored coffee creamers-I have to stay away from those! LOL on the bed ha ha. Thanks for joining for coffee
ReplyDeleteI love flavored creamers! Coconut Crème is my go-to right now. The Reeses is a fun treat.
DeleteOh my gosh that's too funny about the Reeses creamer. I have always been a big fan of flavored creamers but the other month I took a break from all creamers and tried to drink it black. Since the reeses has come up I've been wanting to try it so I decided to splurge and buy it. I do like it, which is funny because I do not like the peanut butter cups.
ReplyDeleteI can do without sugar, but definitely need creamer in my coffee! You should try this one.
DeleteNot another one out of Vegas :( I understand though. I booked my flights in June to nail down the price.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to book flights early but hated to chance it with my ankle and pay those outrageous rebooking fees if I couldn't go. I made the right call, I think.
DeleteOMG is that creamer for real? Hilarious! I totally feel you on Vegas. I waited too long to book flights and paid waaaay too much. All the best with your winter racing season!
ReplyDeleteYes, I purchased the Reeses creamer...for the kid (ahem). I'm sorry I won't get to see you in Vegas!
DeleteI'm sorry about Vegas, but at least you'll have gal pals for PCB again.
ReplyDeleteI don't really have trouble getting out of bed -- I have trouble sleeping as long as I'd like to, and it actually gets worse when daylight savings time is over. :( Now, getting out of bed isn't hard . . . going for a run in the morning? Too cold! Hey, yesterday afternoon I was rewarded with being able to wear a skirt on the run!
Hopefully, there will be many more meet ups with gal/blogger pals in my future. I'd like to go back to Utah!
DeleteWe are sure going to miss you in Vegas! It's just not going to be the same #Holottavegas without ya!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you girls will manage to have some fun! ;)
DeleteAwww...I'm sobbing over my chai latte' that you're not gonna be in Vegas (with your WH arm warmers and all...). Total bummer ;-( But, you and Tricia need to hop on a cheap flight to Iowa so I can show you how to run in the snow...if you wait until January, there may even be ice. Now, that's living ;-)
ReplyDeleteThink of me when you wear the WH arm warmers! I've actually run in the snow, believe it or not, while visiting DC one March. I must pass on the ice though.
DeleteI'm excited about that Southern race season... :p
ReplyDeleteOh, me too!
DeleteThe shopping center where OTF is starting playing carols Nov. 1. TOO SOON! I do like those stamps though .... Bummer on the airfare, but think how many more races you could do for that same money. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI had that same thought! There is so much I can do with the money it would cost to go to Vegas now. I noticed Christmas movies have already started on TV. Sigh.
DeleteYou know I love my flavored creamers.
ReplyDeleteWill miss you in Vegas. I booked my flight in March in order to use my miles.
Sure wish I could go to PCB. Maybe next year.
It will be very hard to watch you all having fun in Vegas! You are always invited to back to PCB any time you want!
DeleteI definitely had a couple of weeks with the same bed problem! I'm starting to get my morning mojo back, though! Tomorrow's time change will probably help that as well. I'm sad you don't get to come out to Vegas, but definitely best to rest that tendon.
ReplyDeleteAt the time, it seemed crazy to book flights for a race where I thought I'd be hobbling around (it hurt to walk at the time too). It was going to be such a quick trip for us anyway so it just didn't seem worth it.
DeleteI'm bummed for you that you won't be able to run Las Vegas Rock 'N' Roll Half. I had hoped to run a spring race in Chicago, but by the time I looked into flights they were outrageously expensive compared to what we usually spend to fly out so I skipped it, too. I hope you can find another equally exciting race to run!
ReplyDeleteI'm not really sad to miss the race -- there are tons of those around -- but hanging out with the other bloggers would have been really fun.
DeleteSorry you couldn't run RnR Las Vegas! I should start looking at knocking some of my southern states of the list! I didn't realize that your season was just starting. Things are obviously slowing down here in the Midwest.
ReplyDeleteYes! Winter is our prime racing season. When healthy, I run as many half marathons as I can during cold weather.
DeleteSorry to hear your Vegas plans didn't come together :( Can't believe you'll be hitting your 50th half marathon - that's awesome! Do you have your race picked out yet?
ReplyDeleteNo, I haven't picked "the race" yet. It may just end up being a local half, which I guess would be pretty appropriate.
DeleteOh I'm sorry to hear that you won't be running in Vegas after all. But at least your ankle is healed!
ReplyDeleteI have definitely had the same issue with my bed...getting out of it in the morning is SO hard, especially as the temps get cooler!
50 half marathons...what a huge accomplishment!
I'm so grateful my ankle was nothing serious and healed much quicker than anticipated. I was able to cycle instead of run for a few weeks and that did the trick.
DeleteI must get that creamer. Looks so good! I am sorry to hear about Las Vegas but I understand not wanting to go because of the fare. Why does it have to be so expensive?!?!
ReplyDeleteI've barely gotten my mileage back so spending that kind of money seemed ridiculous in the scheme of things. Had I been in prime shape -- I would have been there.
DeleteI'm so sorry to hear Vegas is a bust. :( That stinks. Last minute airfare is SO freaking expensive. I tried to get to PHX in less than a week when my dad wasn't doing well and I couldn't swing it. Thankfully it wasn't an emergency situation.
ReplyDeleteThat creamer looks dangerous! ;)
What. That Reese's coffee creamer looks amazing and I don't even drink coffee! :P
ReplyDeleteAnddd yes, my bed definitely had a significant amount of suction--I don't know how people get up in the morning!! :P
I'm sorry to hear about Vegas, but hopefully you'll get to go at some other point! :]
